Prescription and OTC medicines become street drugs
Prescribed and over-the-counter drugs are sometimes taken from medicine cabinets at home. Illegal distribution, also known as “pharming,” is common throughout the United States. Prescription and Over-the-Counter drugs are being sold on the street for $1 to $50 a pill, and they are easy to get.
By removing the coating of a pill and crushing it to be snorted, chewing it, or injecting it, Both Rx and OTC drugs become street drugs! In addition, injecting drugs increase the risk of AIDS, hepatitis, and other diseases.
OD Deaths near Madison in the last week include a 12 year old and a 16 year old. Middle schoolers say you can buy anything in the halls of their school. How quick would we act to shut down a business, or charter school, if this level of activity was discovered? But yet we put our kids on a bus and send them to these environments.
